Serials Librarian, Cumberland School of Law, Samford University

 

REQUIRED: M.L.S. degree. Minimum of two years' technical services
experience.  Must possess exceptional organizational skills and a strong
service orientation.  Must have excellent oral and written
communications skills.  Must have the ability to establish and maintain
effective relationships with the library staff, faculty, students,
University contacts, and vendors.  

 

DESIRABLE:  Experience or course work to demonstrate proficiencies in
cataloging, OCLC, AACR2rev, MARC formats; particularly USMARC Format for
Holdings Data, archival or records management, and preservation methods.
Experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc Millennium is highly
desirable.

 

The Serials Librarian is primarily responsible for managing procedures
for the processing of periodicals, looseleaf services, newspapers,
newsletters, and other continuations.  The job does not require
extensive technical services experience or a legal background.
