Hello,
I've finally updated our WebOPAC to the point where we now have a
briefcit.html file and record browse displays.
We have a large amount of 970 TOC data for CLE materials.
Record browse is great because of the item availability information, but
it does not have the functionality of the extended index browse where
you can browse by author and see the 970 title associated with a 970
author.
For example
http://catalog.socialaw.com/search~/a?searchtype=a&searcharg=mest&SORT=D
will get you to an extended index because there are multiple authors
that begin with "Mest" - all of the titles displayed under the first
author come from the 970 field associated with the author.
When you browse a singular author (or the author does not have something
like a see reference)
http://catalog.socialaw.com/search/a?Schlissel%2C+Stephen+W.
It goes automatically to a record browse display - which only displays
the 245.
I did fiddle with the briefcit.html and tried <!--{fieldspec:Vbjt}-->
but that displays the first j970t field in the record.
Is there a way that I could make the author browse of a singular author
go directly to the extended index display without being automatically
pushed through to the record browse display, or is there a way to have
the best of both displays?
I hope this makes sense - and that someone has a better handle on
browsing display than I do.
Thank you,
-Cindy
