Hi rich

You should be able to find a way to do this if you have had load profile
training and therefore are able to create local load profiles. It
would then be possible to use an export of the record numbers from Excel
to generate a MARC file with just the one field using one of the
publicly available utilities such as MarcEdit and use a special load
profile to e.g. add a local tag to each record which would permit the
records to be identified subsequently (and in fact the load process
gives an option to put all records matched into a review file).

Leeds currently uses a similar technique with lists of barcodes to
handle mass shelfmark or location updates when e.g. there is an exercise
to relegate selected stock to stack or store.

Subject: [IUG] Excel list into Millennium

Dear IUGers,

I've looked around the Clearinghouse and the NOBLE swapshop,
wondering if it's possible to import a list of bib numbers from an
Excel spreadsheet into a list, for the purposes of changing a
code. Have I missed something? One can do this in OCLC.

Thanks for your help.
