We've just upgraded to 3M SelfCheck software ver. 3.50.118.0 (for
machine model 6420). The new software has the ability to customize the
date due format on checkout receipts. To make it work, you have to know
"the due date format being sent from the circulation system
(18-character field)". The default format that comes with the software
is yyyyMMdd####HHmmss (where # = space).
Does anybody know what the SIP date due format is when it comes out of
the III system? When I leave the default, I get nowhere. When I change
the default to mm-dd-yy, which is the visible format (but obviously not
an 18-character field) I get close to what I want, but not exactly. For
a due date of "02-22-08" I get a receipt that says "Tuesday, January 22,
2008".
The SIP format is not the setting which controls the custom format which
prints on the receipts; they're two different settings in the software,
and what I'm looking for is the III SIP output format. As usual,
there's not any cross ref documentation (like, "If you have a III
system, here's your standard format!")
We don't use hourly loans in any form, if that's relevant.
Thanks for any info.
