Yes, we all agree that it is not the easiest system to work with. However,
this user group is very generous with suggestions and help for specific
problems. The good thing about the Staging directory is that you can download
the Pro example set ahead of time and experiment with things. While it won't
look exactly like when you turn Pro, it is very close.
Find a catalog that looks similar to what you want yours to emulate. Take a
look at their wwwoptions, webpub.def, briefcit.html, bib_display.html
You may find that you like certain things about one and other things about
another.
In case you don't know how to see the files mentioned above, they can be found
by going to the site and using this format:
http://whatevercatalog.edu/screens/filename
You may need to look at the page source in order to see what the file actually
looks like.
Having just gone through the process, I'll be happy to answer whatever
