- Subject: [IUG] Access to text version of the catalog
I'm curious as to whether libraries are continuing to provide access to
the text version of their Innopac catalog. From discussions with our
music librarian, it's my sense that the text version of the catalog
provides better searching for music materials. However, Internet
Explorer 7 will not launch a telnet session. Windows Vista does not
ship with a telnet client. What strategies are you using to continue to
provide access to the text version? What plans might libraries have to
wean users from the text version? Or if you have eliminated access to
the text version, how did you present this to your patrons?
thanks, Sara
