We have been EDIFACT ordering from B&T for both books and media.

The ordering process itself is fine, but there are a couple of issues with media items. Many do not have an ISBN, so B&T creates one for it, especially for ordering purposes. However, this "fake" ISBN is not in existing records or records from other sources, so when obtaining the records from B&T (we use TitleSource3), the records usually have to be merged with preexisting records after having been ordered. The other problem is that B&T has told us that they only do Electronic Invoicing for books, not for media (dvds/cds), so those invoices still have to be done by hand.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions or call if you wish.

Subject: [IUG] Ordering AV materials with EDIFACT

We are looking to expand our EDIFACT ordering with two more media
vendors, Baker & Taylor and Midwest Tapes.

Does anyone have experience ordering from one or both of these vendors?
We would also be interested in electronic invoicing in the near future.

I would appreciate any shared experiences and/or advice.

Thanks,
