Good afternoon: We've got it set up so that we get a message that asks
us if we want to override the "library use only" message. We go ahead
and override it and it points to our non-circulating loan rule at the
top of our loanrule table which allows us to check it out for 21 days.
When it is returned, the item status remains as "o" Use in Library... I
hope this helps! Kind regards, Eeva

We have some items that we want to check out for in-house library use
only. If we use the item status of "o" which is for library use only,
the system won't let the item check out regardless of what our loan
rule
determiner table says. Is this the way the system is supposed to work
and if so, does anyone have a suggestion for how we can accomplish
what
we want, other than allowing all staff members the authorization to
override? Some of the ideas I have include:

1) Should we just use a message field that pops up each time the
item is checked out (& subsequently checked back in) so that the staff
member can verbally remind the student that the item is in-house use
only?

2) Creating a new item status that reads something like: 2 hour
In-library use only

I can't think of any truly reliable way to ensure that the items are
indeed used in the library only but does anyone have any thoughts on
how
we can ideally use the system to help us?

Thanks in advance!
