Alison,

Your site works OK here on IE7 + Win XP. Your problem could be the
result of poor Innovative code. When you use the
<!--{advancedsearchbody}--> token it adds some code between the </head>
and <body> sections of your document

---snip---
</head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/scripts/ProStyles.css" />
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"
src="/scripts/common.js"></script>

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"
src="/scripts/features.js"></script>

<body .....
---snip---

Apart from the fact that these lines shouldn't be there (they are also
in the head section) - it does mean that ProStyles.css will overwrite
your styles.css (This will probably be more noticible if you move to the
Webpac pro example set). This poor code / style layout does not affect
things here, but your IE settings may be different.

I cant get to the controls to turn off javascript in IE7 here so I do
not know what errors the browser would throw up if this was the case -
certainly in firefox you get a no entries found error following the
search with no javascript.

I think you can safely replace the <!--{advancedsearchbody}--> token
with the code it generates minus the bits between head and body - but
whether it will fix your problem I do not know.

Subject: [IUG] WebPAC Pro + IE7 + Advanced Search = Error

Hi all,

I have a call into III, but am wondering if anyone else experienced an
issue with Advanced Search/IE7 after an upgrade to WebPAC Pro.

WebPAC Pro was installed on our system last night. Everything seems to
be working well with the exception of our Advanced Search
(http://innopac.fauquiercounty.gov/search/X) and IE7. If you try and do
a search (cats and dogs, etc.) you either get a horrible Windows
Internet Explorer error (IE cannot open the site
http://innopac.fauquiercounty.gov <http://innopac.fauquiercounty.gov/>
<search string>... operation aborted) or sometimes just "No Entries
Found," when we definitely have materials that meet the search criteria.
I've noticed that in some cases/on some PCs (again w/Windows XP and IE
7), the Advanced Search works just fine on our staging port
(http://innopac.fauquiercounty.gov:2082/search/X), even though there
doesn't seem to be any difference with the page or the web options. The
person sitting next to me, however, doesn't have any problems on staging
or live, and as best as we can tell, her IE 7 settings are the same as
mine.

We are using the 2006 classic example sets. The first III person I spoke
to thinks I'll end up having to use the srchhelp_x from the WebPAC Pro
example set (even though I didn't see this as a requirement for WPP
upgrade), but for now they want to see what the differences could be
w/staging and live.

If any of you have any ideas or suggestions, please pass along.
Otherwise, we're pleased with RightResults/relevancy ranking that WPP
provides.

Regards,

Alison
