Position: Digital Projects Librarian
Reports to: Head of Bibliographic Control
Works closely with Library staff to advance existing digital collections in CONTENTdm<http://www.marquette.edu/library/MUDC/> (http://www.marquette.edu/library/MUDC/) and to provide leadership and coordination for new projects including collection identification, staffing, workflow management, metadata creation, web design, and preservation.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Masters' degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited library school. Minimum one year of experience in digital project management including working knowledge of standards and best practices and experience with digital content systems. Working knowledge of metadata standards such as MARC, EAD, TEI, MODS, METS, VRA Core and Dublin Core. Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of staff within the Library, the University and in collaborative initiatives with other institutions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities: Web development experience including HTML, XHTML, CSS, and XML. Working knowledge of relevant Web 2.0 technologies for digital content delivery. Knowledge of digital preservation standards and practices.
