[IUG] spellcheck dictionaries - source

Hello all

What is the source of the spellcheck (Spell Check) dictionaries?
Who compiled and edited them? For example, is the medical dictionary
Stedman's? 

In a previous thread Andrew Preater of Edward Boyle Library,
University of Leeds said he thinks the module is based
on Wintertree Software products [18 Apr 2007].

This web site also explains the procedure for editing the
dictionary files. It's not arduous, but it's up to III to allow
us to do it.

If this info is not true, then could one of the III "lurkers" please 
set us straight?
