[IUG] Archiving order records

Good Morning,
 
We are trying to purge some unnecessary order records using the Data Exchange function. We created 3 review files of order records to archive and have written them to tape.
 
Before we delete the order records in the review files, we want to make sure we can access the files from the tape. 
 
So far we have been unsuccessful in accessing the files on the tape. Has anyone had success using Data Exchange to import files from a tape?
