Re: [IUG] Screen Resolution Statistics

I'm glad, very glad to see a lot more 1024*768. Especially considering that is what ships be default now I think.

I'd be curious with the statistics if they were able to break out - internal vs external hits, and also if the stats take into account if the numbers reflect newer pcs added in, or if IT/CS made the res switch on them, and also if there was resistance. Stats only tell part of the story.

For what it's worth, the site for "the counter" which does a lot of counters for folks has global
stats available by resolution, browser, os and more compiled on a monthly basis.
The URL is: http://www.thecounter.com/stats/2007/September/res.php

Also, I've used MultiRes before for Windows screen resolution; looks like it's not totally freeware
And would cost for organizations, but there is a totally free Windows (gui and console) program available
called Resolution Changer, available from www.12noon.com I haven't used it so I don't have any comments.
Locally on of our systems folks wrote a quick little app that they push down at startup from the network
that toggles screen resolution between 800x600 and 1024x768. All new PCs are coming in set to the latter.

Alan

I'd like to see the chart, but if was in an attachment it won't come
through the list. Unless you can present it as text in an e-mail message,
would you please post a copy at a URL we could access, or send me a copy?

Thanks
