Yes, we have done this but have them indexed separately.  Take a look at our
catalog.  We have a couple of campuses that rely on MeSH heading so you can
search that index.  They are combined in the keyword index so we've covered
most of the bases.  No one has complained and those who are accustomed to
MeSH are happy.
