The (only?) suitable laser continuous-feed alternative one of our guys found
(as well as myself in a bit of poking around) was the the Microplex Solid
F24 [http://www.microplex-usa.com/f24specs.htm] As far as I know he was
still looking into it, so I have no idea how much it costs, or any reports
of performance.

Subject: [IUG] "Quiet" serial label printers?

Due to noise issues, I've been asked to see what alternatives to our Okidata
tractor feed printer might be out there. Does anyone batch print your
serials/routing labels? Or has anyone found a 'quiet'
one-at-a-time printer? We currently have staff members printing call
number and routing labels to attached Okidatas, and while I'm loathe to
tinker with a set-up that works, we do have other staff who find the noise
disruptive -- are earplugs our only option?

Thanks in advance.
