[IUG] Automatically re-naming empty review files for featured lists?
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
We used to have a script create our own web pages for title lists, but
I've started using Featured Lists for this (because, with 50 titles per
page and brief cite, the Featured Lists now look better than my
automatically generated pages, and Featured Lists are easy). I have an
Expect script create the review files using the character-based system.
One of the lists I want to create sometimes has no hits, so the review
file name in Featured Lists is "Empty", which displays to the patrons in
Featured Lists. The only way I know of to re-name this is to do it
manually in Millennium Create Lists. So, questions:
1. Does anyone know of a clever way to rename an empty review file in
the character-based system? The "rename" feature isn't there; I've
tried creating an empty, properly-named review file in Millennium and
then copying it in the character-based system (because I could automate
this if the empty, named review file was always there) but "copy a
review file" gives me only files with more than zero records. I've
tried pressing "s" to interrupt the searching but the review file name
goes back to "Empty".
2. I've never used Auto-IT. Can someone tell me if I could kick off an
Auto-IT script (to rename certain "Empty" review files using Millennium)
using Windows scheduled tasks?
3. Any other suggestions for doing this using Featured Lists? I know I
could do this outside the III system like I've done before (using perl
scripts to create the web pages) or by exporting the records into some
other database for web display, but I'm trying to avoid the work of
setting that up.
Thanks.
