The IUG list is not moderated in the usual sense of the word. In
general*, subscribers can post directly to the list, and posts from
non-subscribers get held for approval (most of these messages are spam).
Regarding the report of spam attached to a digest list: I haven't been
subscribed to the digest recently but I've just re-activated my digest
subscription so that I can see what's going on. I would appreciate
hearing (privately) from anyone who has received a digest message with
spam in it, and it would be great if you could forward the message in
question. Please send these to:
innopac-owner at innopacusers dot org
*When I say that subscribers can post directly to the list, I mean that
the list software compares the "from" address in an incoming post to the
list of subscribers, and allows the post if it is in the list. If the
address you originally told the list to send your messages to and the
"from" address are not the same, your messages will be held for
approval. If you're in this situation and you want to fix it, you'll
have to un-subscribe and re-subscribe. You can use this page:
http://www.innovativeusers.org/mailman/listinfo/innopac
or contact me if you would like help. Also, some messages are held if
the list thinks the message could be spam.

Isn't this list moderated, or has a spammer advanced the art? Anyhow,
my Innopac digest had a spam attached to it. If others also got it, we
have a problem.
