- Subject: Re: [IUG] E-Reserve Course Password - Is Anybody Using?
We have been using the Course password for at least a couple of years.
We also have recently started using Blackboard as well. The current
policy is that all PDF's are ereserves and anything else is put in Bb
(presentations, images and sound). We have found that if we use a
publisher code other then 000, the course password does not work, would
be interested in that is true in other sites.
I've answered your questions below:
* Who creates the reserve password?
Library staff create the password.
* How is the password disseminated to the students?
Faculty provide the password to students in the class
* How do you assist students who forget the password?
We keep a master list in the library circ/ ref desk. If the class also
has materials on Bb, the password is also listed there.
* Do you need to have a course list to know who is in the class and thus who is allowed to have the password?
No. But we do have access to a view in Banner of students enrolled in
a class to use if we need to.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
