I've had good experiences with Batch Text Replacer from www.BrineSoft.com -
something like $20 for a license, and it has a fair assortment of
search/replace options. Not familiar with Auto Replace, so I can't compare.

In addition, for those who edit using text editors like Notepad, there is a
dandy little freeware program called Auto Replace 1.0 by Andreas
Jönsson. This is my favorite program for replacing
text/links/character strings across files. I've sometimes replaced whole
paragraphs in several files. The other day, I replaced a link in
44 files at one time. (Incidentally, I don't get a kickback for this
endorsement.) Email me for the link if you are interested can't find it.
