Sounds like you are heading in the right direction. We usually hold off
with checking in any items when we go offline for the very reasons you
mention.
Another thought is to be sure you have the stats groups at each branch
set set to the number used at that branch so the checkout statistics and
checkout locations are recorded properly.

We did come to the conclusion that we don't want to check in material as
we will not know if it should be put InTransit to another branch to be
shelved. The report that is produced upon loading the transactions does
not appear to show items InTransit unless there is a hold for that item.
Plus, it will be double work to check them in using Offline Circ and
then have to go through them later looking for material these items. We
think it will just be easier to set items to be checked in aside and
check them in when the new server is up and running.
