I have exactly the same. I opened the call and for two months I got nothing - just I am bombed with more and more questions and requests. The initial reaction was "It's a PC problem and I am not a PC specialist. Check your PC settings". Logs I've sent were completely ignored - not a word of comment. Glad, that's not only me treated that way, not glad, because the delay reaches up to 10 minutes. What helped to reduce the delay somehow was setting Login Manager> Manager Controlled Options>Print tab> Select local printer at startup as checked ON. We managed to lower the delay from up to 10 minutes to less then one minute. But still no clue why doeas it happen at all.
Hope this helps

Amy,
We have seen this for a long time. I've complained about it to III but I finally closed the call because I never got any movement on the ticket.
I can reproduce it 100% of the time by launching a Millennium session using a login with a local printer defined in the login. In Login Manager, Edit Login, Selected Printers -> all of the slow logins have a printer defined as printer type "Local". The delay doesn't happen with any login that doesn't have a local printer defined in the login. For example, it doesn't happen with logins that have only have network printers defined in the logins.
If you figure out how to get around this, please let me know. We would really appreciate a solution.

We have a longstanding problem with slow loading of the Millennium applications. For example, the Circulation application takes 1:15 to load. It gets "stuck" for a long time at "Laying out panels."
I observed three Windows XP processes running at high CPU utilization during the loading of Millennium applications:
java.exe
csrss.exe
spoolsv.exe
I discovered that when I stopped the Windows Printer Spooler service (spoolsv.exe) before loading the Millennium applications, the application loaded much faster.
Load time without the print spooler running: 15 seconds
Load time with the print spooler running: 1:15
IT environment:
Novell 6.0 server, Novell 4.91 SP 2 desktop client, Windows XP SP2, Java 1.41.02.
On our patron/training computers that don't have any Novell software installed, Millennium applications open fast (15 seconds).
I suspect some piece of Novell software but don't know what.
Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks.
