We have been using the Innovative's ILL module since 2002 or so.



As with the other respondent, I have never used Illiad.


I've heard Illiad has the capacity to print loan data to a wrapper or
sticker, which the Innovative product doesn't have.


The bill and overdue management is identical with Innovative's handling
of these functions for any other circulated item, since the system
functions by creating a virtual item (distinct from the virtual item in
the ILL module, which causes certain unfortunate disconnects) which is
then checked out to the patron record.


Statistics are also not very well-developed - a delimited file can be
downloaded with more information about each transaction than most would
ever use, but there is no analysis or viewing capacity within the
system.


I suspect I am too close to recognize all the things it DOES which are
not done by other systems -- it does allow interaction with OCLC,
tracking of requests through various stages, requests made by patrons
through the OPAC, requests appear on patron-viewable record,
etc.


For us, it is satisfactory as a basic system but lacking in certain bells
and whistles that would really enhance the experience.
