It is a big issue with us. In the notice we tell them to wait 2-3 days
for the item to reach their pickup location and to call first to confirm
the item is there. Most patrons read the notice, others don't and show
up 30 minutes later, especially if they have email notices. Circ staff
are then not happy and they can't seem to figure out how to view the
virtual record, even after training.
The only suggestion I was able to give them, is we setup OCLC so the
items are sent directly to the pickup location and they receive and
return them in both OCLC and III. Needless to say, I had no takers.

Subject: [IUG] ILL module with multiple pickup locations
Is anyone using the ILL module with multiple pickup locations? Our
problem is that immediately upon receiving an item the notice is queued.
It takes at least a day and usually longer for the item to transfer to
the pickup location. By that time the customer has had a call and is
expecting the book at the designated branch. Has anyone come up with a
work around for this?
Thanks in advance for you assistance.
