Howdy --

I am pleased to announce that online registration for the 15th Annual
Innovative Users Group Conference to be held May 2007 in San Jose,
California is now available at:
http://www.innovativeusers.org/iug2007/registration.html. Early bird
registration will take place from Jan. 30 through Feb. 28th. Early bird
registrants will be entered into a raffle for seven free 2007 conference
registrations [2 for U.S. members and 5 for international members].

You will need your IUG member number and III site code in order to
register. Please see the registration page for details on how to obtain
these numbers. Non-IUG members should register directly with Kathy
O'Gorman, IUG Financial Consultant kathy at innovativeusers dot org dot If you
need your password, please email me (cseeman at umich dot edu) or use this
form:
http://www.innovativeusers.org/forms/webmaster.html

The conference dates are as follows:

IUG Pre-Conference & Innovative Workshops: Monday May 14, 2007
IUG Main Conference: Tuesday May 15-Thursday May 17, 2007

The IUG Pre-Conference is a virtual boot camp for using the Innovative
System, intended for staff from new libraries, staff who have assumed or
taken new responsibilities with systems management, or staff who need a
refresher on how it all works. The sessions are smaller and are geared
to getting your library up and running. Like the main conference, the
pre-conference has sessions provided by both Innovative and IUG members.

The morning III workshop will be "Disaster Recovery Seminar: How to use
your system to help recover collections and/or operations.", and the
afternoon session will be "Collection Development - using your
Millennium system for analyzing your collection, selecting material and
weeding." Each Innovative workshop is limited to 250 participants, so be
sure to register in advance. For more information on the Innovative
Workshops, please visit:
http://www.innovativeusers.org/iug2007/faq.html#precon.

The main conference will take place from Tuesday May 15th through
Thursday May 17th. A preliminary schedule and program information will
be available in mid-February. At that time Nancy Fleck, IUG Program
Chair and IUG Vice Chair/Chair Elect will invite you to participate in
the 2nd program interest survey. Please let us know the programs you
tentatively plan to attend so that we may assign the programs to
appropriately sized rooms.

One Day Registration
We are creating a new program this year as a pilot to introduce one-day
registration for the IUG Conference. Only the last day, Thursday May
17th, will be possible if you wish to register for one-day. The last
day normally has a repeats of the most popular programs, so it makes the
most sense for a one-day program. We are hoping to create a new way to
allow people who might not otherwise be allowed to go to the meeting
because of the cost or time commitment. We will assess the program
after the fact to see if it should be repeated down the road. For more
information on the One-Day Registration, please follow this link:
