Thanks to all who have responded. We've decided not to use courtesy
notices, and I don't think they've gotten the "Too soon to renew" message
(but I will ask staff to see if that's connected in some way).

One staff member reported "Everything comes up correctly, they click to
renew item and the screen just blinks but doesn't renew the item." I guess
that could mean they are just not paying attention to the message. But then
the same patron shows up within the library the same day, steps up to an
OPAC station and renews the item, no problem.

III thinks (just as you reported, Val) that they simply do not have
javascript enabled at home. I guess that's possible, but I just find the
confluence of all these reports very suspicious.

It sounds like some of you have put in a lot of time on this one all ready.
I would be curious to know what server make/model and what OS platform you
are using. Thanks.

Steve,
Are you getting the message "Too soon to renew"? We started getting that
message when we updated to 2006. Our renewals times were connected to the
courtesy notices and patrons receiving the notices were getting the too soon
to renew message. All we had to do was increase the time before renew by one
day and that fixed the problem.
