We are experiencing intermittent problems with remote patrons trying to
renew. Innovative tech support says it is caused by the individual
patron's Internet connection. I asked whether there may be a browser
version issue but was told no that it was the Internet connection that
was blocking the renewal command issued by the patron from reaching the
server. Most patrons didn't get any sort of error message although one
got a message "done but with errors on the page". When staff checked
their accounts there weren't any blocks and the items they were trying
to renew didn't have any holds and they weren't trying to renew too soon
to when they checked the item out which in all these cases a specific
message to that situation should have appeared. One patron who is
continuing to have this problem gave us her PIN and I was able to renew
items in her record from my PC where she was not. But since she had been
able to renew online from her PC before we upgraded to Release 2006 and
is now not able to makes me still wonder is there is other issues.

Subject: [IUG] Renewal Issues on Release 2006
Greetings,
Has anyone heard of or experienced problems with remote patrons unable
to
renew items on the web opac? I've gotten a number of reports from
libraries
and I'm just curious to know if anyone else has heard of this. We are
on
release 2006. Thanks!
