Technical Services Manager

Technical Services Manager. Excellent opportunity for experienced 
professional to join our award winning library staff. Our beautiful 
library is located in the friendly, quiet, picturesque community of La 
Porte, Indiana, one hour from Chicago, 20 minutes from Lake Michigan 
beaches and recreation. Manages all aspects of the Technical Services 
Department, including acquisitions, cataloging and physical processing. 
Performs authority work, original and copy cataloging in all formats 
using OCLC, LCSH and dewey classifications. Maintains the integrity of 
the bibliographic database. Member of senior leadership group. 
Professional, administrative and supervisory experience in Technical 
Services, in depth knowledge of MARC formats, ALA/MLS Required. 
Supervises 8 employees (6.5 FTE ).Qualities necessary to succeed in this 
position : (1) Demonstrated excellent supervisory and leadership 
abilities. (2) Outstanding tact and social skills and ability to work 
with staff at all levels.(3) Willingness and ability to be a team 
player. Successful candidate should have effective communications skills 
and a strong commitment to supporting public services. Knowledge of 
Innovative Interfaces system a plus. Hiring Range: $45,000-$70,000. 22
