Yes Phil, you can print to a network printer within Millennium (page 104056). And as a result, you can actually print to any printer. You are not restricted to Innovative's recommended printer, though that probably does provide the best quality for the tasks. But you are right - you have to balance need with the budget. Here's a caveat, though - I have only used Okidatas, HP's, & Epson receipt printers with Millennium. But it doesn't mean others will not work. I just haven't had any experience with it, though. It would make sense that any letter-size printer should work fine.

Subject: [IUG] Circ notice printers: laser that's not LJ 4250n
Has anyone printed circ notices (overdues, etc.) to a laser printer other than the recommended (on manual page # 101133) HP LaserJet 4250N, especially a lower-model printer like maybe a LaserJet 1022 that's connected to a JetDirect box, or perhaps something completely different like a Toshiba copier? Currently we print about 150-200 notices a week (actually bills; we don't print overdues at all) on our old Okidata printer but we need to replace it. I like the idea of switching to plain paper on a laser printer (we already have a machine to fold the printouts), but I'm balking at spending $1,300 (for a LaserJet 4250N) for such a small amount of printing.
Also, it looks like I can print circ. notices from Millennium (by choosing the right the "form printer") to a printer that's set up as a network printer on the III server or to a printer that's set up as a local printer on the PC--is that right? (We print in a round-about way from the character-based system right now.)
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Phil
