We are software-only site and migrated from Solaris to Linux a year ago.
There was no major migration issues and we also did not find any difference
in terms of managing the OS. But we could save a lot in hardware
maintenance as Intel hardware comes with 3-5 years warranty. We have also
upgraded to Rel. 2006 1.1 this morning successfully without any major
issues.
