Re: [IUG] III and users groups

The Eastern Great Lakes IUG conference has mostly presentations from the
membership. We invite our III sales consultant to do a one-hour opening
session on a topic of his choice and he has always stayed to attend other
sessions and meet with people throughout the day. Our conferences are more
focused on member presentations--how they are using the system, what new
products they are implementing, etc.
As to follow through, I can't speak to that specifically but I know our
sales consultant took a lot of notes and respectfully answered questions.

Subject: [IUG] III and users groups
I have a question to the III different users groups:
I just returned from the first conference or gathering of the new GCC IUG,
the Gulf users group. I would like to know if III just sends its sales
people only to these users groups like what I have seen the last two days.
I do not mind to listen again and again to the same presentations of III
sales if they also listen to our concerns. Some of them do not bother even
taking notes of what we are telling them, rather they focus on delivering
their things ans give repeated answers to issues we address. They also
dominate the gathering with long presentations, leaving little time for
the users to present their needs or talk about issues. I have asked if the
future gathering can have a programmer and or product manager to whom we
can address our issues and get convincing answers.
Is this the case with other users groups?
