This key position supervises the technical
services department, coordinates system library policy and manages the
III integrated library system to its maximum potential.

Supervisor - Learning Resources Services

The position is based at the Central Services in Abu Dhabi and the
incumbent will be responsible for:

* Plan and coordinate library material acquisition, cataloguing,
processing, textbook acquisition and distribution functions within
Technical Services

* Oversee and manage the operation, maintenance and future development
of the integrated library system (III)

* Coordinate and provide technical expertise to support the integration
of the Library system with other major HCT software applications such as
Banner, Portal, WebCT Vista, etc

* Supervise technical service staff and operations, ensure timely and
effective evaluation of services and personnel, and develop operational
goals for the unit in keeping with Learning Resource Services objective

* Develop and document policies, procedures, and standards for all
technical services operations and system wide circulation activities

* Supervise policy development and planning for HCT Library & Learning
Centre services

Requirements:

* Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited
institution

* Minimum five years of experience in a similar role of a library
technical services unit

* Minimum three years experience in the management and operation of an
automated library system (preference given to candidates familiar with
the III integrated library system).

* Prior experience in library technical services, including
acquisitions, cataloguing, classification, serials and library
automation operations with a strong background in anyone of the areas
mentioned

* Experience in international or multi-cultural settings and in working
with language learning materials preferred

* Superior interpersonal, communication, team-building and leadership
skills, including the ability to work effectively in a
dynamic, cross cultural environment.
