[IUG] Limiting searches in webOPAC

I have a question from a ref. librarian. Can someone explain this
particular 'situation':
An author search is done in the web OPAC for Karon Jan and limited to a
branch, so far so good. Then when the sort is changed from system sorted
to reverse year, for example, we begin to get multiple entries for the
same title. I tried this search on a few different catalogs that have
iii and I see the same thing happening. Can someone explain why one
title would list 2 times, for example. (I thought at first that if the
limiting branch had 2 copies, then it would list it 2 times, but that is
not always the case).
