I want to demystify the feeds, too, in the same line as what Bob said.
Feeds are xml file. IUG clearing house has a very good perl script to
convert whatever you want to feed into xml. The only thing you need to
do is to upload that file(s) into your screens folder. It is not
automatic as the feed builder, but the idea is the same. If you can
spare a few minutes at a certain fixed interval during the day, or week
or month, you are well set.
I have a new book feed built that way in our staging port. If anybody is
interested, contact me off the list.

And Feed Builder can only create feeds from data in your catalog. If
your
community events have records in the catalog and you have the Feed
Builder
product, then the Innovative system can be used to create a feed for the
events. If your events are not in the catalog you can always create
feeds
manually---a feed is just XML code in a particular format.
