RE: [IUG] Holds not generating paging slips.
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
We have this problem when placing holds with the REQUEST_MULTI function,
which permits users to save records and then request multiple items in a
single action. Holds placed using this method were showing properly on
the system but the paging slip was not being generated. When requests
are placed individually then the slips generate as they should.
We opened a call back in June (my c922926) which is still open. We've
disabled the REQUEST_MULTI function in our live site until further
notice.
We're running 2006LE.

Subject: [IUG] Holds not generating paging slips.
Greetings,
Why would holds not generate paging slips? Here is our set up. We
are on 2006 and we auto generate paging slips every hour. The holds
were placed by the patrons via the website. All of this is standard
operating procedure and how we have worked since we went live a year
and half ago. I looked at the auto notices log and they are running
and the note says that there were no notices to print at the time I
would expect them to print, and for several hours afterwards. Notices
are being printed to the various locations. We have a standard pickup
location that allows us to mail everything. The holds do not appear to
be broken. I don't know what else to look at. When a user came in and
picked out a book it had a hold on it. No paging slip had been
generated but it was flagged as having a hold when it was checked out.
Finally - when I say printed, the notices are emailed to the various
locations. And no I have no idea how widespread the problem is. We
run a hold report every 2 weeks and the various locations use the view
holds function at their discretion.
Any suggestions on where the problem could be? Or should I just call
III?
