We are in the same boat with only 3 items, and creating a new Item type.
We haven't yet decided on the mat type icon for these.

We have three playaway books in our system.  We used the same icon for
these as we used for the downloadable audiobooks - which is a book and
a device.  We added an Itype for it, and it's searchable along with our
books on CD.  (If you search infosoup.org for the keyword "playaway",
you'll find them.)  



We'd like a new scope for it, but didn't want to pay for a new scope
for just three items.  We'll have to see how popular these are.
