Re: [IUG] Question about SELFREG
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
I agree that the documentation for selfreg is lacking, and the following
is only a guess (since we don't use templates for selfreg):
In the hidden 'template' input on each of your forms, there is a "name"
property and a "value" property. For example, on your Adult form you
have "Online20" and "20" respectively. Try putting your template name
(i.e., the template code from Millennium) into both the "name" and
"value" properties. For example, if your circ template code for adult
selfreg patrons is called Online20, both properties in the hidden
template should be "Online20".
If that doesn't work, what do you currently have as your
SELFREG_TEMPLATE wwwoption? Since all of your forms use the hidden
input, which overrides the default template, I don't think the wwwoption
is getting used. Instead, try making one of your forms the default (ie,
comment out the hidden input and change the wwwoption value to whichever
template you make the default) and see if the system likes that any
better.
I just tried the first suggestion on our server and successfully
created a patron record that called up a different template.
Good luck!

Hi all,
I am trying to implement the Self Registration feature and have run
into
difficulties once again. Nothing in the documentation seems to help
since I
couldn't find anything that would cover our needs.
We need to have 4 different forms, one for each patron type that will
use
the feature; therefore, users need to start at a page where they select
the
type of patron they are (Child, YA, Adult, or Senior) and then the
right
form will be called up. This is in part intended to create a patron
record
bearing the appropriate PTYPE code value.
Do I need to create 4 templates in Millennium, or will one do just fine
for
all scenarios? Either way, since it seems the system will only accept
one
wwwoption value for SELFREG_TEMPLATE, I am thinking only one template
can be
used. Then how will I make the right form be used and function properly
when
the patron submits it? I know most people just have one generic form
for all
patrons, but I have also seen a couple of other libraries who use
multiple
forms. When I started and had only one selfreg.html form it worked like
a
charm, a patron record was created, and all was right in the world.
Now
nothing works when I try to have selfregseniors.html,
selfregadults.html,
selfregteens.html, selfregchildren.html. The forms show up by linking
to
them from the selection page, but nothing happens when submitted.
If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. There is a lot of
pressure here to get the selfreg up and running.
