Katherine,

Put this in the body element:
document.search.searchText1.focus()---where the searchText1 is the text
box where you want the cursor to be.

Subject: [IUG] cursor positioning in webpac

Hi,

I've had several users ask me if I can fix our webpac so the cursor is
already in the blank search box when they get to the main page. Can it
be done? My gut says yes, but I can't figure it out. Am I missing
something in the WWWoptions?

I already have FORM_FOCUS set to 1, but that's not fixing the problem.

Subject: Re: [IUG] WAM Filters Again

This was happening when we upgraded to 2005. The problem for us was that
we had uploaded the wam_filter file to our screens directory, when it
should have been uploaded to the http directory. Given that nothing you
do to the wam_filter file is having any effect on actual counts, this
might be your problem as well.

Hello,
I know this topic has come up before, and I've searched the archives
and the
IUG Clearinghouse and the III FAQs for guidance, but have not found a
good
example of a filter that counts just connections, not CSS, not images,
not
redirects.

I've read the manual, I asked my trainer this Summer, who sent the
question to
the III help desk, who then referred me to the manual. I'm now stuck.

I've tried adding the X lines to stop the logging, this did not change

anything. I now have a filter with every line commented out, and that
doesn't
change anything. And, as much as I'd like to believe our database use
went up
exponentially between June when we were on Silver and July when I
upgraded to
2006LE, I just can't. We are very small, and Summer is our slowest use
time.
I've looked at our use for the past few years, and the numbers I'm
getting now
are simply too high to be realistic for us.

So, at this point I have to wonder, is the new WAM filter process still
set up
wrong, or has the system underreported WAM statistics for the past 5
years
that we've been using the proxy server?

Does anyone have a WAM filter that successfully counts just the number
of
times patrons connect to the databases that they would be willing to
share?

Many many thanks,
