RE: [IUG] Mass deleting item records from a review file

Sandy,

When we delete, we always put the items in a "pending withdrawal" status.
At the end of the month, a designated person deletes the items off our
system and out of OCLC. Having a couple of extra weeks between the initial
change of status to pending withdrawal and the actual deletion seems to aid
in preventing mistakes. It also involves having the item looked at by two
persons, one to set to pending withdrawal and one to actually delete the
item. This seems to also catch things that occasionally slip by someone.

Subject: [IUG] Mass deleting item records from a review file

I have a review file of 250 items that have already been set to delete,
and have been suppressed. I now want to officially and permanently
remove them from our catalog (we are in a consortium, if that matters.)
Is there a way to delete all the item records in a review file from the
Cataloging module? It looks like this could be done from text-based at a
system administrator level - is that the only option? Other than
deleting each item, one at a time...

Thanks,
