Ron,

The problem is the mainactivetab. It has a float element in it. Try
tweakingn it to see if it makes any difference. The big difference
between IE and non_IE in redesigning the webOPAC pro is the float thing.
If this one does not fix the problem, look to make sure the header has a
line saying if it is IE, use ie_styles.css. If it is not there, use the
inserthead wwwoptions.

I am two weeks into the redesigning. So far, I would say about 70% of my
time is spent on fixing the style problems. But the real fun part of
the redesign, so far for me, is working with the bib_display. You can do
so much. For instance, I can separate the find similar items into find
similar items on the same subject and find similar items by the same
author(s).

Subject: [IUG] IE6 Behavior in WebPac Pro

Hello,

I'm having some strange behavior with IE6 on our OPAC on the staging
port. I have loaded the new WebPac Pro files on the staging port and am
editing them for public view. Unfortunately our port is blocked
externally so I can't provide a link.

Anyway, on the opening screen either mainmenu or opacmenu, when I load
the page the following occurs

In any of the tabs - keyword, title, author, etc. the page loads and
then a second later the "Sorted by:" or "System sorted" dropdown menu
shifts upwards. The text box stays in place, but when I enter any text
it appears above the box in line with the "Sorted by" dropdown menu but
with a really bad presentation. As well the links in the Other Searches
box get garbled as if they are overwriting each other.

If I then do a refresh, the problem corrects itself and everything is
fine.

Firefox does not have this same issue. I've looked to see the difference

between styles.css and iestyles.css and can't seem to see anything
obvious.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Ron
