RE: [IUG] Patron API

Well,
We are using III's WAM table for that particular purpose, but for some
other applications we have used ASP and screen scraping with the ASP
Tear component to grant or deny access to some resources. However, for
connecting to third party resources, they may want a proxy server in
place so people accessing databases from home would appear to be coming
from the library, making it much easier for the db vendor to
authenticate.

Subject: [IUG] Patron API
Hello,
We have purchased the Patron API from III to use with our new
Envisionware PC Reservation system and it works just great. Now, since
we have the software, we would like to make use of it from a Web page on
our local Web server to validate the barcode and, based on the outcome,
allow or deny access to other locally mounted databases. Is anyone out
there doing something like this and would you be willing to talk to me
about what you are doing - please.
Thanks,
Emily J. Morris
