Responsibilities:

Under supervision of the Systems Librarian and with close working
relationship with the Electronic Resources Librarian, the Library
Assistant III (Electronic Resources Library Technician) provides support
for the library's provision of computerized information. This includes
participating in the library's digital imaging projects and web page
maintenance; assisting with library management reports such as database
use statistics and reports from the III Millennium system; and
technology support for library media equipment, network operations,
student and staff computers, and peripheral hardware associated with
library key work activities. Troubleshoots and clearly communicates to
library staff and administration regarding solutions to library
technology problems. May be assigned to specific library departments for
special projects as needed. Must be available to work after normal
working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Required: Technical skills to maintain web pages. Knowledge of
Innovative Interfaces Millennium software. Experience with library
visual media technology such as video projectors, DVD, CD players, and
others. Technical skills to install and troubleshoot Windows Operating
Systems and Office Suite applications, and network and TCP/IP
connectivity. Excellent problem solving skills. A strong commitment to
library service. Technical skills to install and troubleshoot hardware
and software problems. Ability to act independently and prioritize
duties when faced with interruptions, distractions and a fluctuating
workload. Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
with the ability to establish and maintain documentation. Writing skills
to prepare clear, concise, grammatically correct business
correspondence. Excellent interpersonal skills that will allow
interaction with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational
levels. Ability to use tact and diplomacy, and to maintain a high level
of confidentiality.

Desired: Micro Computer specific (e.g. HP, A+) certification. Working
knowledge of University policies and procedures that pertain to the
duties of the position.
