RE: [IUG] Changing Amount Charged for Fines

The main thing to ask yourself before changing a loan rule is "Do I feel
lucky today?" I mean, "What will happen to items already checked out
with this loan rule?" It's very, very important that you understand
every scenario before you leap.

I just talked with someone on the Help Desk about this issue a few
days
ago. Our Board has made changes to the operating policy, including
changes to overdue fines and the number of renewals permitted on some
items. I was told that neither of those changes would require a new
loan rule. (Unfortunately, I don't have the name of that person.)

Fortunately, our changes do not go into affect until September 1, so I
have not implemented them yet. I just opened a call with III to
double-check this.

Thanks for the warning!
