Dear Colleagues

Our library users are virtually all academics with Masters degrees upwards
and our Information Services aim to provide as much of a self service
facility as possible. We have just launched our Webopac using Millennium,
and it is a huge improvement on the previous system! We launched with an
awareness campaign and training sessions but we now want to focus on
making sure our users "buy in" to the system and explore its many
functions - we get some really good feedback but also moans about it being
"different" to the previous system and we want to make sure they are not
frustrated by the changes as this will make them more reluctant to use the
Webopac, which we are hoping will make them more self sufficient.

We are going to do this by providing ongoing training, setting up an
internal user group, having articles in the organisational newsletter and
quick "did you know" emails and notes on the intranet.

I wondered if other users who have lauched a totally new system recently
have any tips on what to do (and more importantly not to do?) when
marketing Millennium.

Thanks in advance
Alison
