- Subject: [IUG] HKIUG CCCII/EACC Tables
On the OCLC list, the Hong Kong Innovative Users Group (HKIUG) has
announced some new tables mapping CCCII and EACC to Unicode.
In response to this, we have just made available the HKIUG table of
EACC/CCCII to Unicode definitions for use with Anzio. Simply download the
file
http://www.anzio.com/~ras/anzio152/CCCII.UNI
and place it in the same directory as Anzio, replacing the existing file
of that name. In Communicate:Charsets, set the 8-bit screen character set
to "CCCII".
BACKGROUND
Anzio is our telnet/SSH client for Windows. It uses Unicode internally, on
the Windows side, so when it is connected to a host system (such as
Innopac) which operates in EACC, CCCII, or some other character set, it
needs to know how to translate beween that character set and Unicode. We
have supported EACC/CCCII for many years, using a translation file named
"CCCII.UNI". This file has evolved over the years as various parties have
codified the equivalencies. This release continues that evolution.
Demos are available on the website below.
