Re: [IUG] Attaching item records in a batch?

Hi, Patricia.
As far as I know, this cannot be done within III. We use the freeware
MarcEdit to do a lot of this kind of thing.
If you can gather the bibs into a review file, you can export them out of
III, use MarcEdit to insert item-generating 949 lines into all the records,
and then reload the records to III. (This is why I was so thrilled to see
that in Millennium we could get and put records directly to the PC, instead
of having to ftp everything.)
If you want more specifics, feel free to contact me offline.
Cheers,

Subject: [IUG] Attaching item records in a batch?
Is there a way to take a review file of bib records and add an item record
to each one in some kind of batch process? The items can all be the same--
they do not need to have barcode numbers or any other unique information.
Thanks.
