Tom,
Before we upgraded to 2006, while we were still on 2006LE, I upgraded
one machine's JRE to 150_6 and experienced some strange circulation
module problems. The first time you pulled up a patron record,
everything looked fine. But once you checked out an item to that
patron, every information disappeared and you can not pull up the same
information again. The item was checked to that patron. The only way
you could get all the information back was to restart the circulation
module. At that time, people were reporting macro problems with 150_6,
but nobody reported any other problems. I got that machine back onto
140_8, the problem went away.
This time around, I did not upgrade JRE fearing the same thing would
happen again to circulation module. Are you on JRE 140_8 or 150_6?

Joe,
We have one caution so far.
We were an integrated beta site for R2006 and things went pretty
smoothly. But in the very last patch they put in place it seems III may
have introduced a circulation bug. Now that we're officially on the
full release of R2006, we have trouble with items that are checked-in on
Mill Circ with on-the-fly bib records.
Here's what happens:
When an on-the-fly (OTF) item is checked in using Millennium, the staff
message says "Item Not Checked Out."
The item remains on the patron's record.
Patrons start receiving overdue notices and fines for OTF items that
they have returned.
These same OTF records can be checked out to more than one patron. The
system does not recognize that the item is checked out to any other
patron.
Holds cannot be placed on OTF items as the system is seeing the record
as being in use.
We have a new call that's been referred to Software Engineering.
For the time-being we've been instructed to do all check-in in the
character-based mode. Yikes! And we're right in the middle of trying
to get everyone off of telnet and the character-based side.
I'm sure III will fix this problem real quick, but it's caused us a
little flurry for the time-being.....
