Yes, I use Create Lists. I export title, author, and ISBN from the bib,
as well as #copies, format, fund, order date, receive date, vendor, and
Paid info from the order rec. Not sure if we've ever actually referred
back to the info, but it's there if we want to.

David,
Do you use Create List to export the order records? What fields do you
export?
Thanks,
Cathy

Archiving order recs is on Manual p. 103096. We don't actually use that
process. We just export the order recs to Excel and store the
spreadsheet on our network. Then we batch-delete the order recs out of
our system.

I was just going to ask what the process is for archiving order records.

Please clarify what you mean by the point "purchase more blocks of
records"
Who are you purchasing the records from? Am I missing something
completely here? We've never purchased blocks of records from III that
I am aware of.
Thanks,
Paul

Are there any pros/cons to keeping order records in the system
indefinitely?
If I am understanding your question correctly, I must admit that at
our library we do not archive order records for the simple reason that
we never seem to have to refer back to them -- we re-use order records
to keep from having to purchase more blocks of records, for the sake of
economy. Whether or not you archive order records would depend on how
you anticipate using the archived information in the future, I believe.
