Hi,

We have patron self registration setup here and it works.

I have set it up with a special template designated for this, but it should
also work if you have defined a template in web options

SELFREG_TEMPLATE=hbstudreg e.g.

If you design special templates for this, naming the template e.g.
reghbstud

the command link will be in our system
http://innopac.lib.kth.se/selfreg/reghbstud and the webpage in Millennium
when designing will be selfreg_reghbstud.html

where innopac.lib.kth.se is the ip for our site.

Maybe you could test this method also?

Our web options for this are

SELFREG_ERROR_EMAIL

SELFREG_INFO_EMAIL

TIMEOUT_SELFREG

Subject: [IUG] patron self registration problem

folks

a question for those who have patron self registration.
We are having problems in setting this up here at the State Library of
South Australia.
When you hit the submit button you the get dreaded Internet Explorer
"page cannot be displayed - Cannot find server or DNS Error" message
With Firefox nothing seems to happen.
In either case the confirmation page does not display and more
importantly the test patron record does not get added to the patron
file.
This happens from within our network or when i try from and or when the
folks at the III help desk try it - here is the link:

http://143.216.21.3/selfreg

This happens either with the default pages that III provide or from a
very basic selfreg.html page that i have designed.
The setting in the woptions file have been verified as ok by III help
desk staff

I am beginning to think that this might be a problem with security
setting on our local network - data sent to our server goes through a
whole bunch of switches and firewalls and it is possible that the form
data could be blocked somewhere.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so was there a solution

thanks in advance
