Re: [IUG] ACQ - how to add ftp hosts for Edifact ordering?

Amy,

The other way, which I use if I want to look into a file without using Millennium at all, is to ftp to the vendor server right from IE. Example: I can login to our YBP folder on: ftp://ftp.ybp.com/export/
choose the file I want and drag it to my desktop ans open it in MS Word. Other than that, the way you use is the way almost all of us use.

Good morning! You are adding the host exactly the way we do! I believe this is the only way to do it! We now want to remove some of our hosts, but we haven't found a way to do so! Anyway, another thing we've set up to facilitate the ftp login process is adding the logins and passwords to the Macros file. This helps when you have a number of vendors you are sending to! Kind regards and have a GREAT day! Eeva

Hello,

We at Minuteman Library Network are wondering what is the best way to
add ftp hosts for Edifact ordering in Millennium Acqusitions. We haven't
been able to find the topic in the documentation. The way we've been
doing it is that we go into Send in Acq, select ftp, start an ftp
session, type over the host name in the Host box, login and send an
order. This seems to add the new host and also retain the one we typed
over. But it seems like there might be a way to set up ftp hosts
independent of conducting an actual edifact transmission of orders. Is
there? If so, please share! If there is documentation that I just
haven't been able to find please let me know where to look for it.

Thanks for any help,
Amy Hart
