Bill--
Akk! Isn't it Backstage which would convert these headings?

Are any libraries that have the automated authority processing doing
anything special with their systems with regards to conference name
authority records. LC used to have individual authority records for
each occurrence of a conference; for example, if a conference was held
annually, there would be a separate authority record for each year. A
couple of years ago, LC decided to eliminate constructing these
individual records, and just have one 'generic' authority name record.
Now we are discovering that are name headings in the bib records are
getting set to the generic heading. So for example, instead of:
"CRPYTO (Conference) : 1999 : Santa Barbara, Calif." they all were:
"CRYPTO (Conference)." Our staff would like the complete name heading
with the date to remain and not be replaced.
Any thoughts on some way to trick Innovative into not changing these
automatically?
